EVENT RECAP: Education Solutions Conference, Aug. 7th – 9th, Baltimore, MD

Ingram Micro invades Baltimore, MD! Over 100 solution providers, manufacturer partners, and Ingram Micro associates came to the Crab Cake Capital of the World for Ingram Micro’s Education Solutions Conference. The conference took place August 7th – 9th at the Marriott Inner Harbor at Camden Yards; just a stone’s throw from Oriole Park at Camden Yards, home of the Baltimore Orioles.

The event commenced with a networking welcome reception. During this two and a half day conference, solution providers were able to learn from manufacturer partners across three technologies in the Education market. Vendors from the Mobile, Physical Security, and ProAV/Digital Signage space discussed how their products function in K-12 and Higher Education schools.

Influential speakers from various backgrounds gave insight on the different technologies within the Education market, as well as the current industry trends.  LeiLani Cauthen, Vice President of the Center for Digital Education, spoke about the state of Digital Education today and its future. According to Cauthen, high school online learners have tripled from 2008 to 2011. Also, 65% of institutions say that virtual learning is critical to their long term strategy.

Along with trainings and presentations, attendees participated in a technology fair, where they had a chance to speak to manufacturer partners, view product demonstrations, and observe a mock classroom. After the technology fair, everyone walked to the Baltimore Orioles game, just a block away. Attendees watched the blowout in two suites, as the Orioles beat the Seattle Mariners 9-2.

It was an exciting two days that brought a lot of learning and networking to all attendees. Thanks again to all of our sponsoring manufacturer partners and solution providers for attending another great Ingram Micro event.
