On August 3rd, we celebrated Ingram Micro’s winning spirit and had some summer fun in our very own Olympic Games. The day started off with an opening ceremony and a special surprise from Keith Bradley, North America president.
Keith Bradley shared with us his experience of carrying the Olympic Torch in Scotland as part of this year’s opening ceremonies and unveiled the enormous Ingram Micro logo painted on the roof of our headquarters that can be seen by planes landing at the nearby John Wayne Airport. Keith also presented a donation for $10,000 to the Special Olympics of Southern California, which was followed by an emotional thank you from Stephanie Hardy, Gold Medalist from the 2003 Special Olympics World Games in Dublin, Ireland.
Afterward, we were all lucky enough to have the chance to hold the torch ourselves and take part in our own version of the Olympic Games which included a water balloon toss, tricycle race, egg relay, putting contest and more.
Here’s a few photos from the day’s events:
Whether people just soaked up the sun or participated in the games, it was definitely a memorable event and a great day in the sun for everyone!
