Well, chalk another successful event up in the books as Ingram Micro leaves its mark in Georgia we introduce the ATL to Digital Signage.
During this a two day event, our intermediate Digital Signage Boot Camp was highlighted by some of the best known vendors in the industry such as Samsung, BroadSign, Peerless, NEC and Cisco (to name a few) speaking about the latest and greatest their companies had to share.
This time also allowed all of us to share best practices in the industry, have physical hands on time by creating and implementing a mock signage solution and provided ample time for our Associates, Vendors, and VAR/SMB customers to network amongst themselves to create an ever growing professional bond with our pears.
A few of the highlights from our vendor partners included:
Cables to Go advocated the TruLink Wireless USB to VGA/Audio Adapter Kit. This award winning kit (for those that are un-familiar), will allow VGA broadcast to SIX displays simultaneously over USB Wirelessly , and is the perfect solution for anyone needing to extent a VGA signal wireless (so think of the need being fulfilled in Classrooms, Conference rooms, etc…)
Samsung advocated a few emerging technologies on their collective drawing board, but the one that specifically jumped out at me was their 650TS (65”) Touch-Screen Interactive “Whiteboard”. This display is essentially a large format LCD that combines a rapid reaction optical touch screen with a intergraded PC and interactive whiteboard software that delivers a wonderful hybrid solution that should gain significant attention in the educational field.
Just think, for educational intuitions that are constantly fighting budget battles; this product provides the best of both worlds so an educator no longer has to choose between technologies.
Everyone is familiar with the phrase “content is king”, and if that is in fact the case, profitable content must be a something even better!
NEC is helping bring advertising revenue to the masses by advocating VUKUNET. This service enables networks to generate incremental revenue by connecting digital signage screens to ad agencies through a universal out-of-home platform. VUKUNET ads are automatically displayed on the network screens at the scheduled times, with no intervention from IT dept and can act as one source for out-of-home digital advertising placement for networks.
Lastly, our own Ingram Micro Digital Signage Division stepped up to the bat to advocate the Ingram Micro Digital Signage Certified Experts Program (A first for any IT distribution). This program that was custom designed by Alan and Jonathan Brawn of Brawn consulting will enable our channel partners to more effectively market, sell and support the growing portfolio of digital signage solutions offered by Ingram Micro.
Well, that’s it for now, see you next round.
